Return to the Ring
A few years after Larry's fight against Mike Tyson the promoter and fans convinced him to return to fighting. His fights would be on USA Network - "Tuesday Night Fights". For the next few years Larry fought 5 times a year.
Larry surprised all the critics with his win over Ray Mercer. Which earned him a chance for the Heavyweight Championship Title, against Evander Holyfield. Larry went the distance with Holyfield, but lost the decision.
Still not ready to"Officially Retire", Larry continued to fight. He fought such contenders as Oliver McCall, Brian Nielson (fought in Denmark) and Maurice Harris.
In Larry's "Comeback of the 1990's", at the an Age when most Fighters would never think about returning to the Ring, Larry had 21 Wins in 24 Fights, including 2 for Titles.
